On 19 May, Bern will host the first Swiss Internet Governance Forum (Swiss Internet Governance Forum, Swiss-IGF). Among the topics selected by the organizers is an introduction to the new.swiss Internet domain, an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with the conditions and process for assigning domain names, before the opening of the.swiss domain in the autumn.

The discussions, conferences and workshops of this first national forum will focus on network policy issues in the Swiss context. The programme was developed by a steering group, set up with the support of the Federal Office of Communication (OFCOM), which brings together various stakeholders, in particular civil society.
